Pre-hire letters are acceptance letters from trucking companies to students, or even potential students, to verify placement. The trucking companies are saying in writing that the student, or potential student, appears to meet the company's minimum hiring requirements and is welcome to attend their orientation at the company’s expense once he or she graduates from truck driving school and has their CDL in hand.

The people that receive a pre-hire letter are people who meet the company's minimum hiring requirements, but it is not an employment contract. It is an invitation to orientation, and the orientation itself is a prerequisite to employment.
During the orientation you will get a physical, drug screen, and background check done. These and other qualifications must be met before someone in orientation is officially hired.

If you are looking for "northeast" opportunities, you should do okay. Many people who work in companies that operate in the "northeast" do not like to go to the "northeast." Soooo, if you want to drive around NYC or Jersey City, be my guest.
Here are a couple of companies to look into.
Navajo Express, although they usually operate out west. New Century, which is based in New Jersey. I have a friend that works a team with her boyfriend. They are an older couple.

Hey everybody,
Sitting here at 2 am because every time I try to close my laptop, another question pops into my head and so far they've all been getting answered. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to share your experience, strength and hope. I'm here in the White Mountains of NH studying and testing daily with this site alone. Starting school on January 6th full-time for 6 weeks in Concord, got a first verbal notification(Werner) of a letter that's going to be sent to my school, I'm wondering what specific companies I might look into ,here in the Northeast maybe Dedicated or Regional routes, or should I just send an application to everyone??
Thanks!
