Background Checks

If I'm applying for trucking jobs in the USA will they check criminal history in Canada? I have a misdemeanor in Canada but I'm applying for a trucking job in Alabama. It's less than 3 years old. Just wondering if it's worth taking the chance of including that on my application? I'm not trying to be deceptive, just trying to give myself a good chance at getting hired without having to explain a stupid mistake.

I would also like any advice anyone can give me on how to deal with a situation like this. If anyone had a similar situation I would like to know how you handled it. Thanks in advance.

Christian, firstly I don't have 1st-hand knowledge of this... but the US and Canada appear friendly enough that the sharing of information would seem likely. So yes, I would mention the Canadian misdemeanor; consider the explanation you'd have to give if you didn't reveal it and they found out!
