I've been through there several times and the last time was in the winter. Plenty of slower drivers than me but I was in no hurry to pass any of them in the left lane. LOL!
They actually closed it shortly after I went through and virtually all of the truck stops west of there were filled way beyond capacity. I was headed to Troutdale and a seriously severe freezing rain storm came through the same night. The whole area was blanketed in 1/2 to 3/4 inch ice.
The parking lot was one giant ice rink and there were penguin walking truck drivers everywhere. LOL!

That's what this old guy said. He said the river is so pristine they don't use road salt. I have a trip back through it. I'll head through it again in a day or so.

At my first stop and was talking to an old timer. He mentioned Cabbage and I asked where that was. He said that big hill you came down. Well, it was kind of scary. However, my jakes will hold me as slow as I want to go. I'm sure I ****ed off pleanty of super truckers. Wouldn't want to try that in snow and ice.
