Thank you everyone. It has been long year, yet it has still flown by. I admit that this career has been far harder on my wife. Going thru deployments has well prepared me for the pitfalls of this career. My wife was not with me during my time in the military. She unfortunately never shared those growing pains with me.

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated
