On the prime driver Facebook page many people seem to end their statements with "local"

It seems derogatory, but what does it mean?

I asked on that page and as expected did not get an answer, just sarcasm. And a stupid meme.

I'm on a couple of Prime's FB pages, and I can't say I've ever seen the term used there. My only guess would be they're speaking of the time zone they're in. As in: "These yahoo's expect me to deliver by 0730 local."

I often use the term when conferring with my dispatcher , so as not to confuse which time zone I'm referring to, mine or his.

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I'm not sure anybody knows what it means. It seems like a little game they play to me. Kinda like in grade school when kids have these little games where they say some word at the end of whatever statement they are making. It's silly to me.

Yeah I just found out earlier it's something like what you're saying. Childish.
