12-24-17 I'm on a load many would hate. I picked it up at the end of the day and shut down at the truck stop near by. This load is due 12-26-17 at 11:30. It's about a 7 hour drive to get there. This is the part many would hate. It's a little over 400 miles and I'm sitting gettting a 34 right after home time.

The rest of the story. I was pre-planned for this on Friday before my DM left for the long weekend. Knowing where I was going, and that I would get a 34, I started planning. I'm shut down at a J where there is restaurants, movies and Walmart all within walking distance or a short Uber. I'm going to relax and see the new Star Wars tonight. I'll head out early Tuesday morning get to my delivery early. By the time I'm empty, they should have my next load ready for me. Also, because I got dispatched for this yesterday it will be on my next paycheck. So, the way I see it, my DM takes great care of me and keeps me rolling. I'll have a fresh 70 on Tuesday morning, so they can run me hard. I love it.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
