If Mack has a brain he'll try to participate in a relevant discussion. It already looks like he's just gonna start in with insults because he doesn't know how to defend his position. If we don't agree with him he will just make a feigned attempt at superiority by throwing around derogatory comments.

LYAO...?

Are you a truck driver Mack? Do you know anything about trucking? Give us some context here. Do you want to have an intelligent exchange or insult a moderator?

All you have offered is anecdotal comments, nothing of substance.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

There is a stage of software testing called stress testing. Without getting too technical this is where the engineers try to "break" it to see how it responds.

Or in the case of our autonomous truck, subject the technology to unfavorable conditions.

This hasn't happened yet, cause the engineers all know it isn't ready and do not want to risk unfavorable public and political opinion. That plus risking a total loss of a test bed (truck with the installed technology) in the event of a wreck.

When a test bed can survive destruction during a series of real-time forced blowouts, gusty crosswinds on a pitched road and a sudden loss of air pressure on all different terrain and weather, then I'll take notice.

Bumping this so Jan doesn't assume my head is in the sand.

Stress testing Jan, read about it. Happy to have an intelligent exchange about it.

Then security and penetration testing will be required before any autonomous technology is ready for prime time.

I could continue but I'll save it for another snowy day.
