I know you’ll be extremely busy but, if you get a chance, would you mind posting what’s going on ever so often? I think when the time for me to change careers happens, Swift is very much where I’d like to go. Good luck, ask questions, and have fun!

Why do I hear so much bad stuff about swift from different people, yet almost every one that's driven for them seems to have liked it.

Swift has thousands of contented drivers. Contented drivers are too busy working/turning miles/making money to complain.

People who have failed at something, often will literally say anything to attempt to justify it.. hence blaming a company/dispatch/whatever for their own problems.

Gotcha, I figured that they have to be doing something right to have so many trucks and drivers on the road.

My nephew got his start with Stevens and he said they always treated him extremely well. He was there about 2 years and left to enter a business arrangement with his uncle/my brother in law.

Thank you, Susan!! 😊 That's very reassuring, I can't wait to get started. I leave Friday morning, and I am feeling all types of anxious, nervous. You name it I feel it lol.

Update on my mentor. So I talked with him over them phone last night. He is owner op. And he does a dedicated intermodal account that runs out of PA. ( so maybe I get to see you G-Town) he said that he has multiple stops a day sometimes. And some loads are 50miles some or 100 miles and it all depends. I think it’s cool that I’ll be learning intermodal. But I’m super nervous about the trip planning with the multiple loads and I know he’s going to teach me. But I don’t want to make him late. But I know I will get it eventually. It’s going to be a tuff one. Be he said his students come off the truck knowing all about the truck and not just driving it.

Intermodal:

Transporting freight using two or more transportation modes. An example would be freight that is moved by truck from the shipper's dock to the rail yard, then placed on a train to the next rail yard, and finally returned to a truck for delivery to the receiving customer.

In trucking when you hear someone refer to an intermodal job they're normally talking about hauling shipping containers to and from the shipyards and railyards.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated
