Welcome. I am fairly new on here as well. I am creeping on folks' posts, and studying as well. I hope to be driving later this year. I have to finish my military requirement before I can start. Best of luck and definitely use the online training here, and read the blogs. Great info.

Welcome JT, I am new to this site and trucking. I begin my adventure with Roehl in Conley, GA this coming Monday, 2 Apr 18.
Thanks for the welcome everyone. Susan, I'm currently going through the High Road CDL Training Program and I can already tell it's going to be a HUGE help when that time comes.

Hey JT and Rocket rider...I drive for Roehl. It’s my second go around with them.
Roehl is pretty transparent as far as health care cost, hometime fleets etc...all that stuff you can find on their website.
If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
Good luck!
Welcome aboard JT!

I just registered here even though I have been all over this site for a few weeks now. Wanted to say Hi! I just lost my job of nearly 10 years due to no fault of my own (the company begs to differ though...don't get me started). So I decided to fulfill a longtime dream and that is to learn how to drive a big rig. I'm not going to take up a lot of space here about myself. In short I have been married to my beautiful wife for over 32 years and we have one adorable granddaughter who is 17 months old. I really love this site because it has really helped me zero in on getting in to trucking as well as helping me make decisions as to what companies to go and train with. All the other sites, forums, job sites, etc. are so full of ex disgruntled employees it's hard to sift through all the bull and get a good picture of what is really going on. Trucking Truth has solved that problem. I'm down to three companies I'm looking at: (1) Roehl, (2) Wil-Trans , & (3) Swift. In that order. So any advice on those from current drivers for them would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at the info on each on here and let me tell you that has helped tremendously in my decision making. Well, I'm usually a man of few words so I've probably said a weeks worth of words for me here...lol...I look forward to interacting with everyone here!
GOD BLESS!

Hours Of Service
HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.Wil-Trans:
Darrel Wilson bought his first tractor in 1980 at age 20, but, being too young to meet OTR age requirements, he leased the truck out and hired a driver.
Through growth and acquisition, Wil-Trans now employs over 200 drivers, and has a long-standing partnership with Prime, Inc. to haul their refrigerated freight. The family of businesses also includes Jim Palmer Trucking and O & S Trucking.
