Hello all, I turned 40 this past month and have decided to follow in my daddies footsteps and become a trucker...the lady kind! :)

I am Phoenix based and we have Swift and Knight based here but I'm having trouble deciding between them. They seem pretty much the same in terms of what they offer. Does anyone have any preference and why? I'm open to all suggestions.

I'm so excited to be out on the road driving. I always loved driving with my daddy and feel very at home on the road. I think this is going to be a wonderful adventure.

Hi. they are both great companies and we have many drivers on the forum at both. Old School is at Knight and G Town at swift. If you post on the main forum, im sure they will respond.

when choosing a company, decide what is important to you. Type of freight, equipment, region, pet/rider policies, training length.

Honestly, terminal location means nothing if you are not required to park at a terminal during home time. My company lets me take the truck home and i can "home time" anywhere in the country. I am dispatched out of the Missouri terminal, but live in NJ.

Trucking Company Reviews

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
