I realize my post may come across, but that is not the intention. Just letting people know that we beginners can make a living also, was. I'm embarrassed now.
I hustled my honey off last week and in doing so, I just missed my first $1000 net check. This goes to show people considering driving that even new drivers can make decent money at starting pay you are willing to keep the door closed AND get lucky with no major delay or mechanical issues.
I'm embarrassed now.
You absolutely should not be. Your post is inspiring to people. I'm glad to see you're shooting for the best you can be and it's definitely helpful to others coming into this industry to see what's possible.
We've seen both sides of it. We've had people come through here and make well over $50,000 their rookie year, and we've had people say they could barely get to $35,000 and ironically enough some of them worked for the same companies!
So it goes to show that what we say is true - trucking is a performance-based business. Those who figure out how to turn a lot of miles safely and reliably are going to make great money. Those who can't figure it out are going to flounder. That's trucking. There are winners and losers in this game. There are no guarantees. It's up to you to make it happen out there. I don't think there's anything more important that you can teach people.
No need to be embarrassed at all. You're seeing the fruits of your efforts, and showing new or soon-to-be drivers the earning potential out here.
Through sharing this with us, you allow us to experience the pride and excitement you're feeling. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say it's nice to see success stories here. Makes it all worth it.
No shame Don. Embrace it. Congratulations!

Just own it Don!! And I'm going to spoil it for you... you'll continue to make new personal records for awhile to come. And it still feels awesome!
Great job! Keep those wheels turning! 👍
Great job Don. Happy for you.
I just missed my first 1k net last week so I know the feeling. Makes you try to push a little harder to get there the next couple weeks. Congrats, keep that money rolling!
I find your post verification of something that is doable and attainable.
"If" one were to follow in a consistent manner the proper processes and procedures of others such as yourself in doing so a Day by Day, Week In and Week out basis.
Nothing to be embarrassed, it's not so much as bragging' or in your a in your face type post, as it is an inspiratipnal for others that earing such is indeed attainable.
Thanks for sharing
