Hi Everyone!

I've been gone awhile, but I'm still trucking. How's everyone been?

I've recommended two friends to this forum in the last month, so I'm hoping to see them here, too.

I've missed you all!

Great to see you, too!

I've been on a dedicated route for two years. I drive from Denver to Salt Lake at night, take my 10, drive back the next night, take my 10hrs, then do it all over again.

It's been a nice, relatively low stress position that I needed, to recover from all the bad ju-ju with Old Dominion.

Now, I have 4 years under my belt with the last two of those years with a clean, accident free record.

Dedicated Route:

A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Wow, that's fantastic. I didn't know if you were driving anymore or not. I think I remember you mentioning that route back in the day but I had completely forgotten about it. I'm glad things are strong and steady for you now.

Are you pulling double trailers? Triples?

GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!!

Glad to hear that you are doing well. You have been through a lot, and it is awesome that you came out on top. Would love to hear about it.

Just pulling a 53' van north to Wyoming, across I80 to SLC. I've chained up and downmany times and driven in some serious Wyoming winter weather, so I have some really great experience, now.

Haha! I just woke up, logged in to see what's up on Trucking Truth, and it feels like I went back in time.

Hello Mountain Girl - it's great to see your pretty blue face in here! Glad to hear your still surviving those winters on I-80. That can be one tough stretch of road. I think it was last year on a trip to Oregon, and as I came through Cheyenne in early June, they had the interstate closed because of a blizzard! You just never know what you're gonna get on that stretch of highway.

It's really great to hear from you!

Interstate:

Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
