My first load of the pay week is a total of 593 miles, not even $300. While driving to my delivery this morning, I say out loud that I would love a load to Laredo. While getting unloaded, I message my FM to tell him I'm getting unloaded and did he have my next load lined up for me. His response was, "I will check." I get unloaded, send my empty call, sweep the trailer, slide the tandems and still no load. I send him a message that I'm heading to the Pilot 2 miles away to wait. As soon as I park, set the breaks and change to off duty. BING! Two new messages. A pick up 44 miles away in Portsmouth, OH, 1460 miles to Laredo, TX. The best part, the load I get out of Laredo will also go on this week's pay. Another great week and It's only Monday.
