Man that’s pretty wild. What did u end up on probation for and how many years ?
Old School is a wild one. There's no tellin' what he could do next! If anyone knows about this kind of stuff it would definitely be him.
Awaiting a response from primitive Old School.
Michael, something is missing, and of course, you know that. Nobody does probation without admitting guilt to something. We don't necessarily need to know what it is, but it's going to be very tough for you to find a trucking job with this stuff hanging over your head.
Nobody is going to work with you with those travel permit requirements in place. Your best bet at this point is to scour Craigslist for Transportation jobs. You may find somebody who will take you on locally, but it may not be an ideal situation. I'd suggest doing any type Class A driving job like that you can get until this dark cloud isn't hanging over you anymore. Then you can try to get on with a better driving job.
"yanked out of my truck at gun point after my license was run"
this means you first got pulled over by an officer or into a weigh station. were you ticketed for anything or pulled over for a moving violation?
Also it means FL had a warrant out for your arrest for assault with a deadly weapon or some such, and the police perceived you as possibly armed and dangerous. I expect police to arrest people who have warrants out.
yes, the problem had been temporarily resolved or swift wouldnt have hired you... but dissmissed without prejudice allows new chargws at any time. Your idea of.moving to PA may have looked.like running away to FL. if you did get a ticket on your driving record that is one more blemish that will hurt you.
I know Marten has a dedicated between FL and GA. Whether they will take your record, is another issue. Davis or john davis has a FL route a friend mentioned once.
first you need to take responsibilty. why not see if you can work things out with swift? do they have a dedicated there? we deliver to Arcadia Walmart all the time. what company runs dedicated there?
Sorry. To clarify, I plead guilty to aggravated battery, great bodily injury/with firearm. I please guilty because although I was and am innocent, my only choice was probation or take a chance with a jury. If the jury decided they didn't like the way I looked, I would get a minimum of 35 years in prison for a crime I didn't commit. I was 40 at the time. Had they dropped the charges like they should have, I could have sued them for wrongful prosecution. Florida is very corrupt. Anyways, thanks for all the responses. I appreciate it.
I ended up with five years on probation with a fifteen year suspended sentence. So if I get into any trouble, they can send me to prison for fifteen years. Oh, and I have to pay 90,000 for my attacker's hospital bills. :)
Rainy asked...
we (Prime) deliver to Arcadia Walmart all the time. what company runs dedicated there?
Swift has the Arcadia DC. They also have WinterHaven.

Hi. In 2014, in Florida, I shot a man in self defense. Arrested, then released with charges dropped, I moved to Pennsylvania for a fresh start. Attended Swift driving academy, did o.t.r. for six months, got yanked out of my truck at gunpoint after my license was run. Florida picked the charges back up. Extradited back, I spent 1.5 years in jail fighting charges. Ended up on probation when my attorney caught one of my attackers lying in his deposition. Have permission to leave the state for work but I'm required to obtain a travel permit for each state I pick up or deliver in. Think I need a "dedicated" run. Does anyone know of any felony friendly, local or dedicated runs out of Tampa, an inexperienced driver could get?
Dedicated Run:
A driver or carrier who transports cargo between regular, prescribed routes. Normally it means a driver will be dedicated to working for one particular customer like Walmart or Home Depot and they will only haul freight for that customer. You'll often hear drivers say something like, "I'm on the Walmart dedicated account."
