The only flatbed endorsement is NYS coil. Otherwise there is no flatbed endorsement. Companies usually offer securement training.
I believe Schneider has a flatbed division but its small. If I'm not mistaken they a full size one years ago but sold it to tmc. And just recently got back in the game.
No endorsement needed. Good training provided by the company and common sense will win out. Never do the minimum securement required. Ok I can't really say never because there are some loads that you just laugh at, throw a couple straps, and roll down the highway with all 2k lbs of it. Other loads have to be secured a very specific way so you do not damage the freight, load securement is usually detailed by the shipper for those loads. If you ever are in doubt, ask another driver at the shipper (any flat bedder worth a damn will help you), call your trainer, call safety etc...
The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.
Like Big Scott said, the only endorsement for Flatbed is the NYS Coil endorsement. And you only need that if you are a NY resident. Non-residents need not apply

I did the search thing here on the forum and on-line but couldn't find anything definite about needing an endorsement to drive a flatbed.
Flatbed experts please chime in.
