Prime issues a Comdata card that pays for everything as well. There is no need to pay out of pocket.
However, I prefer to use my own credit card in some instances, and then get reimbursed by Prime through my check. This improves my credit rating, and earns me points/cash back rewards.
Good deal thanks for the info

Brent asks:
Brent, many companies issue a Comdata card that is basically used as a payment mechanism for fuel, DEF, oil, miscellaneous fluids, truck wash, CAT scales , lumpers...etc. This limits, all but eliminates the need for a driver to pay for these things out-of-pocket.
When I need to pay for something as described, I call the Driver Leader (DL) on duty and request authorization. They electronically authorize the money on the card for the required usage. Very useful tool.
Although I cannot verify every company that uses Comdata’s service, Swift definitely issues these cards to their drivers.
CAT Scale:

In fact, CAT Scale offers an unconditional Guarantee:
“If you get an overweight fine from the state after our scale showed your legal, we will immediately check our scale. If our scale is wrong, we will reimburse you for the fine. If our scale is correct, a representative of CAT Scale Company will appear in court with the driver as a witness”
