My terminal just called all runs before midnight are canceled around Chicago due to ice.
Ice is not something to mess with.

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
I was scheduled to begin my field training (driving) after 2 days of orientation at 2am wednesday with a run to Omaha but des Moines had freezing rain all morning and we'll be getting 6 inches of snow overnight. They gave me the option of pushing it back a day so I jumped at the offer.

Up in Ohio just across border from Michigan where I dropped load...winter weather advisory, it's below freezing, and has started to sleet/rain already....
Planning on staying late(past 10 break by 4-5 hrs till it getd late) till it gets light and assess weather...im suppose to pick up load thats already late about 50 miles from where i am...
