On top of Elk Mountain

All covered in snow,

I parked my truck quickly,

And the wind it did blow.

The sleet, it blew sideways,

And I refused to go.

My trailer tails went flying,

And I screamed "Oh No!"

My radio antenna disappeared,

After a loud snap and crack,

When I get out of these strong gusts,

i swear I'll never come back.

There's snow and there's ice,

The truck slides left and right,

Drivin' through a winter wonderland!

Although my load is light It's heavy on my mind; Because this storm is growing And I'm losing time.

The end of the road is somewhere I can't see...

It's raining so hard I can't read the signs; It takes all of my skill To stay between the lines

But there ain't no place that I'd rather be...

I'm stuck in the snow On the side of the road; The wind is blowing And it's twenty below

The end if this night is somewhere I can't see...

A blanket of fog Obscures the road; And I'm moving slightly faster Than limp mode

But there ain't no place that I'd rather be...
