Have you ever wondered why many yard trucks that schuffle trailers around have a bar hanging from chains under the front bumper? I did but didn’t ask because I wanted to figure it out on my own. Finally I gave up and asked. They serve a very important purpose. Somebody else can finish the story. Or am I the only one who didn’t know?

They are magnets to pick up those pesky nails and screws the hurt poor, innocent tires.

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
