If NASCAR is your thing, I know of 3 speedways with truckstops a hop and a skip away. Las Vegas, Chicagoland and Talladega. I am sure there are more I just haven’t driven by them enough.
Funny you should mention that. I am taking a 34 next Sunday and Monday. Going to the race at Fontana. 5 miles from the Swift Terminal. No transportation costs, no lodging costs leaves me extra $$$ for a good seat and a pit pass! If any Fans will be in the area, let me know.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
I’ll be watching it on the TV. Additionally, Texas Motor Speedway, Richmond Raceway, and Iowa Speedway all have at least one truck stop close by.
I am liking the options here. Never thought of taking time for things like NASCAR. I would do that in a heartbeat!
There is lots to do. Get a load with extra time going thru Vegas? Stop off at the Wild West Truck plaza. It is only $10 a day and 4 or 5 blocks from the strip. Disneyland is within 10 - 15 min drive from several industrial parks. Want to see Disney Word, get a load going to Orlando. I have passed Sturgis, SD. Btw, there is a truck stop in Sturgis. If you like Casinos, many Casinos have truck parking. A few actually have driver areas. They are usually pay to get in, but you get access to a shower besides a tv lounge. A lot of Casinos have great buffets. Want to see the NYC skyline.... simple fix. Volunteer for a load to NYC. Want to go to Six Flags over GA? Several options. Petro Atlanta is 10 mins away. It is pay to stay. Also there is a huge industrial area even closer. Is football your sport? TA Nashville is right across from Nissan Stadium. I’ve driven down Lombardi Ave in GB lots of times. Every time I go to Georgia Pacific in Green Bay. All it takes is a little imagination and some prior planning.
