So, Werner sent me home last Wednesday because one of my meds is prohibited. Today I signed on with US Xpress for a job similar to the Werner regional. Same pay, same out 2 wk home 2 days, dedicated to Quad Graphic ink and paper, no touch. Very pleased. I was up front with the recruiter and sent her the meds I take. She said it's up to the company doc. I am having the VA provide a medical release form so I should be ok. Starts May 1.

Regional:

Regional Route

Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.

Having a medical release form is good, but it's no guarantee. Ultimately the company doc will make his own determination based on the guidelines he's been given from the company. Let us know how it turns out.
