I wish to thank all the fellow vets here for your service, and a safe memorial day. I wish everyone safe travels. This weather is crazy and horrific in some areas.

Can you please change the happy tittle there is nothing to be happy about this day thank you Memorial Day a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered

I certainly meant no disrespect in the title. I believe that today is the day we honor those who paid the ultimate price and celebrate their lives and accomplishments. If a moderator wishes to change the title that is fine with me.

Memorial Day was designed to celebrate those who serve our country in both times of peace and war. It was created to pay respect to the dead. ... It's not appropriate to say "Happy Memorial Day," just as you wouldn't celebrate a loved one's funeral for being fun

You made your point. Since your facts are not straight, I suggest you go to History.com and do a bit of research. As a 32 year retired military veteran, I take no offense to PJ beginning this topic, nor the title of it.

Try to keep an open mind, and remember the freedom for which our fallen soldiers fought and died.

Why I think it's perfectly ok to say Happy Memorial Day

Thanks to ya’ll. I understand everyone has their own opinion and I respect that wether I personally agree or not. That is the very reason we put the uniform on in the first place. Thanks Anne, that is my baby for sure. I need to upgrade the pic, that one isn’t it at its best look for sure, lol. God Bless each and everyone, and God bless America!!!!
