Just had the best shower I've ever had on the road. This is a newer pilot with big showers even though there's only three of them great hot water and pressure and the nozzle you can remove from the wall. Also when you come in there's a note from the GM thanking you for using their place and with the towels there is a bottle of water and a York Peppermint Patty. Made you feel like you were in a nice hotel. Tipped the shower guy five bucks... Only thing missing was a valet back to the truck... great way to end a long day. Time to crash...

Capitalism works every time. Competition like that eventually makes the other guys step up their game!

Wow. At the Milton fishhook you get a wet floor mat, ice cold water and if your lucky a towel but if they are all out of them theres a hot air hand blower to dry off with. At the breezeood fishhook you get a towel they use to mop the floor with and watered down soap. Lots of run down pilots and flying J’s out here. It’s crazy there’s one going the extra mile. Best shower I’ve had was at a mom and pops in WV someplace. Can’t remember but the towels and the shower was amazing. The shower was about the size of my family room. Cost like 7 bucks.

When going down 287 I'll stop at that Pilot or the Loves in Eads. So happy they finished the road work in Lamar.

Yes construction is done in Lamar... Only problem with that pilot is the only food there is pre-made sandwiches and Dunkin Donuts. But Pizza Hut his next door then there are several fast food joints within a couple blocks. but everyone there is incredibly nice. And the place is immaculately clean.

I was thinking it had the "pj fresh" stuff too. Been awhile since I've stopped there. Last time through Lamar the road was still a mess.
