Honestly if they can hit the toilet and not leave a mess I could care less which bathroom is used.

double-quotes-end.png

Same. Also, don’t try to hold a conversation with me in the bathroom. That is just weird.

I have heard some weird things coming from stalls. Lol

LOL I do tell people to have a good day, even in bathrooms. It's kinda weird but oh well, if someone gets offended by a well-wishing, they can go ahead have the day they deserve.

On topic answer, I can understand a womans concern for safety. As men we aren't afraid of trans anyone. We are big strong men after all. I don't care what anyone does or thinks as long as those actions or ideas aren't causing harm to anyone. I'm always looking for the bright side of any situation, trying to make the day better for anyone I cross paths with.

Used to see a lot of women using mens rooms at concerts & festivals. We have standups and sitdowns, and they only have sitdowns - which takes up more space and the lines get longer at womens rooms.

Now (and here's where I skirt the bounds of policy/legality versus morality versus god-knows-what).

Most states now have laws concerning gender/restrooms - where you can use whatever restroom gender you DECLARE YOURSELF TO BE.

This is not a hit on people who have "fully transitioned" and live their lives completely as a particular gender. But the notion that gender is a "social construct" - and not a matter of BIOLOGY, is divisive new age horsecrap. There aren't 56 genders (or whatever they're up to).

Where we run into an issue is - folks that may not be actual trans - are taking advantage of the laws to invade spaces they really aren't entitled to (and some, for nefarious purposes). And nothing against trans-individuals, but why we have to cater to what amounts to less than 5% of the population. If I had a daughter in school - I wouldn't want her to be legally compelled to look at male private parts in a locker room, because some federal/state law requires it.

Given that - obviously - men probably don't care if a woman comes into a mens room. Women likely feel a little different, and I wouldn't wander into a "multi-user womens room" myself - I would just find a bush.

This even has the potential to be a dangerous situation for transgender people.

- and has been. And when someone objects they are called "homophones" and are accused of a hate crime.

As far as the LGBTQ issues go - I personally could care less, and support those that seek love regardless of which gender they seek it with. It's not a "public policy issue" to me - other than, they shouldn't be discriminated against legally for their preference. OTOH - the notion that there are 50 genders, or even more than two, is just more new-age garbage. Likewise - hetro's are called "cis-gendered" by "the movement" - I prefer to call myself NORMAL.

Which brings up the current internet-meme/joke/reality: A lesbian is in a relationship with a M-F trans that considers themselves a lesbian also. She gets pregnant and everyone tells here: WELCOME TO HETROSEXUALITY.

Crazy world out there. I feel bad for the WOMEN that have to put up with the invasion of privacy and sense of security in places like restrooms and locker rooms - in order to cater to such a miniscule segment of the population. The world (and this country) has GONE INSANE in the last dozen years. I only thank the lord I'm old enough that I likely won't see how much worse it gets in another 20.

Apologies in advance if my comments offend anyone's fragile sensibilities.

Rick

I grew up with Star Trek and Star Wars, and I look people of the various races and the otherwise very different (from me) as simply "aliens" from other worlds. I hope if I give them a chance I'll learn that they are, like me, working for the Federation towards a common goal. I know this might sound flippant, but it really is the practice I use all the time and have for many years. It's science fictional but has a real, positive effect every day.

Perhaps u having a problem looking at this from a woman’s point! I could care less if they are from Mars. When I enter into a women’s bathroom in a truckstop in the middle of the night and the only other person in there looks to be a man. My first thought is he here to rape , murder or play peek-a-boo! I have put myself in a bad situation, because really no one even knows you’re in there.

Your op asked "guys" to answer how they would handle a person in the men's room at a urinal dressed "like a woman". You got my answer. It was not very different from the other answers along the lines of "I could care less".

I know guys look at things different. When I told my husband he said did he leave the seat up or down? I just read that a Prime transgender driver had a gun pulled on her in a bathroom yesterday. I don’t know the details but she made it sound that it was due to her being transgender. Dangerous stuff, guns in bathrooms. I might need to learn to go under the trailer.

We are to the point in this country that we don't even know how to respond to this anymore in a common-sense fashion. If we let our common sense feelings known we are in Peril of being labeled things we don't want to be, and most likely things we aren't. So I guess we have a choice to make. Just be who you are and how you feel and let the consequences fall into place. Donna, I wouldn't have questioned your fears if you had gone to someone and addressed the situation. God knows it's better to be on the safe side then to be left in a corner as a victim. Sorry you had to go through this. Hope you never have to deal with this again.

Transgenders have been using public restrooms of their own choosing all along without any of us knowing it. This is really a non-issue that's that's been pushed out onto the public sphere by a very small segment of the transgender population that are activists. I have transgender friends and I support their rights, just like everyone else's, and they deserve not to be harrassed. Most of them want to quietly go about their business without drawing unwanted attention just like any person does in their everyday life.

I will state directly and unapologetically that if you were not born a woman, you do not belong in a woman's restroom; nor do women who identify as male belong in a men's restroom. I don't give a **** if you are a male who Identifies as being a female; get the f*&% out and go to the men's bathroom.

I "identified" myself as a fudgesicle this morning, until I walked outside into the heat.
