Iris, all the major carriers hire newbies. I don't understand the issue. If you are strictly trying smaller companies for local driving jobs then you're going to have problems. You need to try contacting any of the major companies for an Over The Road job.
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
I guess I should ask how you obtained your CDL. It's possible that's part of the problem. Did you get a 160 hour training certificate?
