I was looking through the mobile app and came across this. I have no idea what it means because the description is cut off. 5000 pts is a lot. I wanna know if this is a one time thing or something that you can possibly get every month. Any ideas?

You get $50 in points for various things including "Top Driver of the Fleet for the Month" and a quarterly "On Time Delivery" bonus.

Look under the tabs at the top of that screen... one of them will give you a schedule. At 1 year OTD you get a jacket, every quarter you get $25, $50, a duffle bag, ring with a diamond.... Safety you get a jacket year 1, another year 2

you get points for scanning and fueling at the terminals too. You can use them at the terminal store, spa and cafes.

Last year I got like $1500 in rewards points whooo hooo! Lots of massages at the spa lol Yours actually says "Top Performer of the Month" so you are the best on your fleet!!!

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Click on the awards tab. This is the schedule, and it will list what you earned and whether you received it or not. The top performer and fueling is in addition.

scroll dowm cause Safety & OTD are 2 different schedules

So can you guys tell us how you guys can achieve this award? What does it take to be the top of your fleet?

Honestly, do your job better than everyone else. It ranks us by fuel savings, on time delivery, availability, customer and public comments/complaints, whether or not you have claims due to bad driving or not securing your load properly, accidents & critical events, and communication with dispatch.

My fleet has 94 drivers last I checked. I got it 4 times last year.

Awesome! So, in a nutshell, be a professional and take your job seriously. I love that Prime rewards you for these kinds of things. I'm sure other companies have their own reward system. I plan on joining prime mid-October from California. Things like this are very encouraging. Thank you for your insight.

Various companies do things differently. For instance we get 1cpm for safety and 1cpm for on time delivery plus our fuel bonus every week.

Some companies like CFI do not give a weekly bonus or fuel bonus, but they give a quarterly productivity bonus, possibly $2000. Swift has levels such as Gold, Platinum Diamond based on their performance. (I think. A Swiftie can respond for you).

This thread is long but i tried to answer all Prime questions in one place. Keep in mind when I went through PSD , starting pay for solo drivers was 39cpm. It is now 45cpm. Also, I do mention that I trained a student my second year which brought my pay up, but honestly i can do that solo now that i handle time management well.

I did post some pay stubs to back me up amd some other Prime drivers confirmed their pays were about the same.

My First Year Pay at Prime

CPM:

Cents Per Mile

Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.

PSD:

Prime Student Driver

Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.

The following is from Prime's website:

Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.

Obtain CDL Permit / 4 Days

  • Enter program, study and test for Missouri CDL permit.
  • Start driving/training at Prime Training Center in Springfield, Missouri.
  • Work toward 40,000 training dispatched miles (minimum) with food allowance while without CDL (Food allowance is paid back with future earnings).

On-the-Road Instruction / 10,000 Miles

  • Train with experienced certified CDL instructor for 3-4 weeks in a real world environment.
  • Get 75 hours of behind-the-wheel time with one-on-one student/instructor ratio.
  • Earn 10,000 miles toward total 40,000 miles needed.
