Yes it is possible, but with the way freight rates are right now I would advise against buying any vehicle.
Ok, thanks! It was brought to my attention over the weekend and I've been trying to research. I was thinking more along the lines of renting or leasing a truck thru Hertz, Enterprise, etc..
The problem is that profit margins will be razor-thin or non-existent. Anyone can rent a truck and haul freight like that. There's almost no barrier to entry and no specialized skill set involved, so there's no way to command a reasonable profit. There will be too much competition, most of which will haul freight at near break-even.
If you can't provide a product or service that's reasonably difficult for your competition to imitate then you're not going to have much in the way of profits. If anyone can do it then the supply will be too high, the demand too low, and profit margins will shrink to near zero, just enough to keep people in business.
Enterprise Rental : $1800 /month, mileage : 18 cents/ miles, Insurance :$30/day plus taxes and fees, fuel, dispatch 13% of gross, tolls, current cargo rates : $2.00 per mile do your maths

I currently have a tri axle dump but I'm interested in maybe delivering freight in another vehicle. Is that possible with a Class B?
