Got An Idea For The Forum That Might Make It Even More Of A Experience Brett If You Will About It....

So I was reading Errol V. comment on a topic you started recently about the community here at truckingtruth.com and he had mentioned that when we can see peoples face when they say something it makes it a lot easier to tell how they ment something. Facial expressions, well, they just have a way of saying things in a more complex, deeper and more meaningful way and they speak volumes. I mean look at Face Book, Skype and so many platforms that have the face time features on them. People use the ALL of the time. It really shows how hungry people are, to see anothers face in conversation especially over a really important situation like we have here on truckingtruth.com. So here is the pitch.

Could you and the moderators and technicians work on a special to truckingtruth.com face time feature that would allow us to see peoples faces in conversation when they are available and then have it as a video feature where people that are members of this forum can make videos for topics if they so desire. I think that it would really improve expression and understanding for the community. That was the thought behind this post. I honestly think it would be exciting. What about you?

Also maybe even a live chat, like what Yahoo and a lot of companies will do online for possible customers. Facebook has it too. It would be neat. Just another thought to add to the first one.

I'm not big on that idea. It will be abused the same way private messaging was. How will you decide who is allowed to use it? If it's open for anybody with an account you run the risk of them spreading false information or seeking referrals. I love that new members, or members who have become problem children need approval before their post is public until they demonstrate they're legitimate and not trolling.

I thought Old School doing the Podcast was totally awesome. Maybe Brett would consider the moderators doing a sort of "intro" in either a podcast or video. That way I may not be seen as mean.

Some people who find us and post right away dont know us, and have no reason to believe us. So an intro discussing our credentials may be helpful?

Right and you know if the chat thing does not work out entirely I mean having the ability to see a video response even. You would just have to record it but I mean it would help because then they can see how we are saying something and not take offense at it so easily. I know that in the past I have taken people the wrong way and the did not mean it the way I thought they did that is why I am saying we should at least put a video feature on here for the benefit for others and if it does not work out we get rid of it and if it does we might even enhance it a little. No one got anywhere without a little risk is also what I am thinking. I do get your point though cause chat can be abused pretty easily.
