I have one question. What is a "second chance" company? I really have no idea what type of company that is referring to.
Steve L., HAPPY NEW YEARS to you, as well~!
I absolutely LOVE your post; wish we still had that star/flag thing that we used to that said 'best comment' or something, but I'm pretty sure they were "mod specific" anyway. (Remember those? You deserve one, IMHO~!!)
Thank you for the thanks, even 'nobodies' like me get a little back'pat, haha! I love you reaching out to the 2nd chance guys/gals, as well. Nice.
Keep on keeping on, Steve. Very touching post.
Anne :)

Joseph, a 2nd chance company is a carrier that is more 'lenient' to an applicant than others; usually regarding "sins of the past" ... ie: termination(s) prior, criminal records, unstable job history, et al.
Carolina Cargo, Western Express (believe it or not...they are a great company, STILL~!), and maybe Trans Am being one also. There are many more, but these are the few I know of through people driving for them 1st hand.
Victor (is he?) is still with Western; O/S started with them, and one of my lady friends started at Carolina Cargo a few years back, yet has moved on to JB Hunt, since then.
I may stand corrected by the veterans here, but in a nutshell; that's my understanding.
Stay safe, Happy New Years~! Anne :)
And a big thanks to Old School! You gave me some very good advice a few weeks back. I’m staying put. As much as we sometimes don’t like things, starting over somewhere else has it’s own challenges.
I'm glad you are settled on what to do for now. I'm always glad to give advice, but always want people to be able to understand their own unique situations. Trucking has been good to most of us but we get those nagging questions sometimes that force us to analyze our current situation again. So often we end up comparing reality with speculation, and that's just hard to do with any degree of confidence.

My hat’s off to all of you. You’ve given great advice, shared experiences and even provided some entertainment over my five years here and trucking.
I especially respect all of you who’ve overcome difficult odds and proven what perseverance can do; you inspire me to do better.

To all who are driving for “second chance” companies, keep at it. When I see your trucks I know you’re on a journey most people couldn’t handle. I also know you’re heading toward a brighter future.
Thank you Brett!
Happy New Year all and may 2020 be your best yet!
