Welcome aboard Raymond! Indeed there are companies that do exactly what you're looking for and their programs are referred to as Company-Sponsored Training Programs. Follow that link and you'll find we have several pages of information on each program.
Let me say this. Before you make any decisions about getting started in trucking, read through our Truck Driver's Career Guide if you haven't already. It covers about every topic imaginable that pertains to getting your trucking career underway and I consider it essential reading for anyone interested in a truck driving career.
That should get you started! Come by and ask a lot of questions. We're always happy to help out.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
So basically if I read this right you can not find a job at home and as a last resort you are looking at Trucking cause there is nothing else. Honestly this worries me on so many levels. Truck driving is not a job you just jump into cause there is nothing available at home. Essentially YOU Have No Home once you start driving. Oh you still have a bed at the house but you will only see it once ever 4 to 6 weeks. Long hours and short pay. If you add up all the hours a truck driver works you can make more working at McDonald's and another part time job.
Sound like you are trying to find a job so you can make some money. If that is your ONLY reason then you will not last 6 months driving a truck. You have to really want to drive a truck If You Want To last. I maybe completely off base here but you only came here and said you could not find a job and had no money. Not much else to go on. Maybe you could clear up what you are wanting besides just a job that you will quit in 6 months cause it's more than about money out here.
Follow those links Brett gave ya then after you understand a little more about what you are getting into then come ask questions.
I know it sucks to be jobless and you are inpatient to start making money but if you get into to big of an hurry and don't read the info provided for free then you will be setting yourself up for failure.
