Nah, I think the panic is drying down. Now we're in the "what can I get out of this?" Phase.
I for one am pro gun, however, I feel much safer without truck drivers having guns than I would if we all had guns. Wayyyyyyyyyy too many type-A personalities out here to arm truckers. If you notice the references in the article, Bronx, Detroit, abandoned gas station, they are places I would never stop anyways as nobody should. Parking in big cities and abandoned businesses is begging for trouble. If one is smart and stays alert while making intelligent choices there really is no need for a gun. If someone wants to high Jack my truck and the load, here's the key. I wouldn't even consider a shootout over it. That's what insurance is for. Besides like stated in the article just how many businesses have no gun signs? Too many and they won't be changing policy anytime soon as they have to deal with truckers all day and they dont want us armed either.

I can already see it in the headlines. "Truck driver shoots shipping clerk for taking too long." With how upset many drivers get with the excessive wait times, and how on edge some people are I'm shocked it doesn't happen.
There's been a few I felt like shooting on occasion. I carry and have had no problems in any big city except for Indianapolis. There was a gun battle about a block from where I had parked, so I moved elsewhere.
