Waiting for my trainer and I to be dispatched. Got my safety equipment this morning.

I was still retired when I woke up this morning. Now look what I did... LOL

Not pictured are my leather gloves. I'll get a pair tomorrow. Any flatbedder glove suggestions?

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Congratulations!! In regards to gloves, I'm a big fan of the Hydra Hide made by Wells Lamont. They're water resistant, last a decent while and also make an insulated version for the winter months. I always keep a couple pair so I can wear one while the other pair is drying. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks Robert B. I was able to find some at a Farm Store.

My first dispatch with my trainer is scheduled. We'll be taking utility truck bodies to Ohio and bringing a steel coil from West Virginia back to Illinois.

With flatbed and curtainside you will eat through gloves. I've got a $95 pair that lasted about as long as a cheap pair. Between bungee cords and straps sliding through your hands as you check them the gloves will get eaten.

Haya, Brandon...KUDOS AGAIN for your successes~!!!

For yourself and the O/P .. have you ever tried these?

Galeton Rough Riders are pretty good; hubby used to pull asphalt tanks (and flats in the winter...) and a fellow ole'timer trucker recommended the Galetons. They were under 20 bucks a pair, so he didn't feel too awful bad when they only lasted a couple months.

On the flip side, I bought him Duluths for Christmas a few years back (Fence menders...they were called!) for around 50 bucks or so... and MAN, they lasted long....months on end.....flats and tanks, though tattered. <<< Until, Einstein he is...left them on the hose/coupling rack, never to be seen again.

The Duluth's are on the birthday list for this year, again! No tanks or flats, but...he loved 'em~! Excellent for landing gears and whatnot, didn't seem bulky either~!

Best of luck... just my two Lincolns~!!

Anne :)

Isn’t that the truth. The expensive gloves get ruined just as fast as the cheap ones from them damn bungies lol.
