That is awesome! The problem is you're setting this future dispatcher up for disappointment when he realizes not every driver can manage their clock as well as you

Yesterday, at our Tolleson, Az. terminal , I run into a team from crst, waiting for repairs to a/c I recognized them both, bout the same time as they did me. Well months ago, I talked to the 1 guy, bout where we grew up in the same Calif neighborhood. So we get on that topic, again.

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
😆 Old School, YOU ARE a memorable guy! And my world is better for your wisdom!

My dispatcher works from his home. That's not related to the pandemic, he's been doing this for several years now. His wife also works for Knight from their home. She's considerably higher up the management chain than him, but they both are dedicated to the same account I drive for - "Hydro Aluminum Extrusions."
I've got her cell number in my phone, but I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've spoken with her. Typically it is her calling me if there is some problem or issue she has been working on. She will usually call for some information or advice concerning a customer.
The other day my phone rings and I see it's her. I answer and she starts in with some small talk. That's unusual because she's usually straight to business and then gets off the phone. Then she proceeded to tell me why she called.
They have one child, a four year old son. Typically they send him to pre-school so they can focus on their work related responsibilities. But, during this time of viral panic the three of them have been cooped up together. She told me the boy thinks he's in the transportation business now. He's started copying their behaviors. One thing he does is walk around the house all day with his toy cell phone to his ear, carrying on about appointments and various other things he's heard them say.
You guys know me as "Old School." They know me as "Dale." She told me the other day he came parading through the room saying this on the phone, "Look, this is my best driver, Dale. He needs to get home. When my driver Dale needs something we make it happen." She told me he hasn't seemed to pick up on any other driver names, but he was starting to use mine in a lot of his trucking conversations. Smart little guy, isn't he!
