I'm glad you got help. Shoulda gotten a picture of the dock with your truck parked. :-D

Mike B., in that situation, it's good to place a flashlight by the dock you're aiming for. And of course, turning around whenever possible to make it drivers side rather than blind side. If nobody will help & you still have to blindside? GOAL as many times as you need to and move your mirrors to keep.an eye on you trailer. I've used my flashlight in 2 similar backing situations like the one in your pic & it helped me more than trusting someone else's judgment. Another thing is, if you accept someone's help? Make sure the signals are coordinated so you're both on the same page. The minute you cant see him/her? STOP that rig!
I know it all sounds like common sense but sense is the least common virtue out here.
Backing into garages is always a challenge because at some point you can't see out of your mirrors. Some garages are very tight, make sure you don't take out a mirror. I have been in some where I could not open my doors to get out. Like Splitter said using a flashlight can help. If you have two different color lights, you can put one on each side of the dock to help you line up. GOAL and use reference points.
My last week at my prior employer I got sent to this place. I swear that my dispatcher was getting back at me for leaving.
Great job, Mike B.
On docks like those, I usually just close my eyes and hope for the best....

Today I had to bump a dock that was in a garage and down hill. I asked lady in receiving if someone could help me back in she said they couldn't because its a liability. Luckily an experienced driver guided me in. Thank you thank you thank you all you experienced drivers who take time out of there schedule to help us newbies out. I would rather ask for help than hit something or someone. Thank-you guys again it really means a lot
