Been going through the high road program and found this question has tripped me up a few times! Other than that it’s been a really useful tool and very easy to use. All newbies this a must.

Slim, share the question with us please. It will help others see what you're talking about. Some of the questions have to be read very carefully to get the right answer. It's done that way purposely because that's the way the actual state tests are done. There's a reason to that. They want to see if you are paying attention, and it shows if you really know the material.

Out here on the road we've really got to pay attention to things like signs. They are designed to keep us safe, but only if we are really focused and paying attention. Several years ago one of our new drivers hit a low bridge while delivering to a customer that I go to regularly. My dispatcher called me wanting to know how that could happen. He knew I'd been there dozens of times. I asked him if he'd looked at the video from the truck's camera. He said no. I told him to watch the video and call me back. The driver drove past three very large signs warning him of the low bridge. He claimed he never saw them!

There's solid reasons why they want to know you are a person who really pays attention.

Don't You Dare Miss That Sign

Dispatcher:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Hopefully the pic uploads. I have tried to do it once already, but to no avail. It was a question about braking and what was the incorrect answer, and the answer was they were all correct answers! Like you said already old school, you have to be paying close attention to the question and the way it is worded, so you don’t mess up.

You’ll find that the state test is the same way. The wording and the way the answers are laid out can be very tricky. You’ll need to read very carefully.

I have been reading the PA manual, studying the High Road and taking various practice tests since October. You will find quite a few of the questions will have nothing but the correct answer worded 3 different ways requiring the all of these answer. As everyone else said, its all about paying attention
