Steve, we have no idea about that. It all depends on your company's contract with that particular customer. If they do pay detention you also need to send in your company macro for detention. New drivers never seem to understand how detention pay works, and experienced drivers seldom get into the situation of needing it.
You need to ask your driver manager , "Hey, what do I need to do to receive detention pay for the time I'm stuck here?" That's the best way for you to handle this. I'm assuming you're a brand new driver, or you probably wouldn't be asking us this. That's not a criticism. We love helping new drivers, but when it comes to detention, you need to know how your company wants you to handle it on the truck's tablet or Quallcomm.
