If anyone could help me out on what to do I would greatly appreciate it.

So 1 year ago I went down for orientation with Cowan in Baltimore, Maryland. At the end of orientation I decided it wasn't the right fit for me. Didn't pay enough like my recruiter told me so I went home. I tried to get a job with Barr-Nunn months later and Cowan put on DAC Terminated. I called HireRight and tried to fight it but they couldn't get Cowan to remove Terminated on my DAC. So I have Barr-Nunn not interested. Marten Transport not interested because of this Terminated from Cowan. I got an orientation pay of $125.00 and it did show on my taxes last year. This year I got a tax form from Cowan showing money earned 0.00

What can I do. Thank you

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

How did you leave Cowan orientation? Just split?

Have you contacted Ciwan about your DAC termination label?

Jonny, what have you been doing for the past year? What's up? Why is trucking capturing your interest again?

I keep thinking we've heard this same story not too long ago. I'm curious how your conversations with the folks at the Cowan orientation went. That may be where your biggest snag is. Were you combative or argumentative with them concerning the fact that it, "Didn't pay enough like my recruiter told me?"

You have to realize that for anyone who listens to your plight, it seems to be missing something relevant. I don't know what advice we could give in this case.

Here's some advice in general...

When you go to a trucking orientation it's not a chance for you to interview the company. You should have already made up your mind about working with them. It's a chance for you to make a good impression. You are the one being interviewed. What kind of impression did you leave with the folks at Cowan? It's a serious question. I honestly think you're leaving something out of this story.

Right after orientation I said it wasn't going to work. Weeks later when I heard what they sent to DAC I called Cowan and they said they would take it off if I came back. I said wasn't interested so they left it on there. I called HireRight and they couldn't do anything. Now Cowan has Terminated/Non-rehire. They are a joke.

Johnny, are you sure? I see a joke but it is not Cowen. Seems like they held up their part of the agreement, they hired you. You didn't keep your end of the agreement. Look in a mirror dude.

Johnny I have a couple of friends driving for Cowan; each over 5 years. They have nothing but good things to say about them.

I believe there us more to this story than what you have shared.

The joke is; they (according to you) will hire you back; yet no other company will touch you. Odd. So working for Cowan is worse than a year of unemployment? That’s the real joke here.
