Recently, I've had adults giving me the arm pump. Always makes me smile. My brothers and I always had fun with it as kids.
I blew mine three days ago for three kids that were playing in their yard as I drove by in Texas. They ran to the fence and did the exaggerated arm pumps. First "request" I can remember in many months. No problem, I can do that!
One looooong blast, with three short follow ups. Took the air tank down to 75 PSI!
Dude everytime i drive over the lake hartwell bridge i blast my horn the whole way across for the boaters and always get red solo cups and beer bottles raised my way
There’s a group of kids in a T shaped cul-de- sak neighborhood I’ve been delivering to in West Chester PA who request the horn from anything bigger then a pickup. At the end of the one street theres a construction yard full of tri-axles. They get the dumps as their running in and out, the trash trucks on Thursdays and even get me with my regular old horn in the Amazon van. I’m gonna get one of those little hand held air horns and surprise em this week
I'm a 50 plus year old female kid, and when the hubby rolls down 314, about a 1/4 mile away from the house, he 'airhorns' me and our 16 y/o son, without us 'signaling.' (<<< Too far, LoL!) Pretty much same time, everyday thru the week....and we STILL smile, and 'say a prayer' for Daddy.
I don't think I'll ever outgrow the love of the sound.
He does 2 short, and one long. Wonder if that's Morse code for something ?
We oftentimes hear the Jakes, as a predecessor..... just because~! ;) Love it.
Stay safe, guys (and gals!) Hope everyone had a marvelous Father's day~!!!
I got the Air Horn Arm Pump Request the day before yesterday; I think it might excite me more than the kids making the request. One or two times I’ve had young adults do it; just goes to show you in some ways we never grow up.
The two oddest arm pumpers I've had was the occupants of a boat as I was crossing a bridge (I think it was in Georgia or South Carolina) I gave them, all adults, a nice couple blasts and I had two Amish buggies on an access road about a mile apart, both with adults on them, pumping like mad so I gave them both a couple pulls as well. Most are kids. I did have a kid one time rolled his window down and pumped so I gave a good blast and it seemed to scared his parents to death. He probably got in trouble for that one.
I had two adults and a kid today.

When you see a kid in a car next to you pumping their arm wanting you to pull on the string do you comply? Long drawn out toot or just a quick one? I've only had the opportunity to make a passerbys day 4 times in the nearly 3 years I've been driving. Coming back from KC today I encountered a motorist that came flying out of no where and as their back window got even with my door they slowed to pace me and rolled the window down. It was at this point I noticed a kid I'd guess was about 4 years old pumping his arm. Of course I had to comply. About an hour later the same car passes me again and does the same thing. This time I let out 2 small toots then let out a long one until my PSI hit 80. The smile on this kids face made every bit of it worth it. No other vehicles were around during this and it was the middle of no where otherwise I may not have done it as long. If only these kids know we enjoy it as much as they do perhaps they'd encourage our inner child to come out more often
What's most bizarre is yesterday I told my wife we need to start teaching our kids (4,3,1) to start doing it. Then today I had the opportunity twice!
TWIC:

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
