Hi I recently got my drivers license reinstated after being suspended for nearly 3 years . It was suspended due to failure to pay traffic tickets . On june 30th 2017 I was involved in a motorcycle accident in which I didn't have insurance for .. That caused me to have a sr22 insurance . I'm looking for advice/recommendations on a company that will accept my drivers history and finance cdl school . I am willing to relocate to anywhere in the country !

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Kevin,

Apply to all of these and see what they say. It’s really the only way to know. It’s not a credit check, you don’t get dinged if they say no.

Kevin,

The suspension might be an issue for most carriers. But, I’d still apply and see what they say.

My license was suspended in 2016 for driving without insurance. Paid the ticket ticket for not having insurance BUT at the time I didn't know my license was suspended until I found out last year through a company that required me to a have a valid license. Long story short got them back reinstated last October. Right now I'm getting ready for cdl class for next week. The only companies that accepted my not fully reinstated license so far was CRST, Covenant, & May Transportation. So it's still some hope for us not so fully licensed drivers.
