Usually going to school with a company is recommended here. One of the primary reasons is that the company has time and money invested in you, and are typically more lenient when it comes to preventables. They will happen, the company wants you to succeed and would be less likely to tell you to hit the road over something minor.

Why I prefer paid CDL training

Go with Paid CDL Training Programs. Chances are if you get your CDL through a private school you'll still likely end up going to a company that has their own school anyways. Unfortunately there's only a dozen or so companies that are willing to take the risks involved with hiring a rookie. If you're trying to avoid a contract don't worry about it. We've had members that despite paying out of pocket for their schooling they still needed to sign a contract due to the time and resources spent on road training. We always tell people to stick with your first company for a minimum of 1 year. After that if you have a clean record and on time deliveries you can pretty much write your ticket to any job you want.

Hi!! I am stuck making a decision on what my better option is. My choices are going with a company paid CDL training or with a local school. Paying for school isn't the issue. I am concerned on being able to get hired after school with a company without experience other than the training experience I receive. The schooling is highly rated with over 20 years in business but I still will have no working experience. So my questions are, would I be able to go through school and get a job even without working experience or would I be better off going with the company where I get training paid for and I have a job when school/training is completed. I would have a contract to complete with the company for a year for the training. I need help for those who have been through this and know because I don't want to make a mistake one way or the other. Please help. Thank you!
