What did ya loose it for? If I am reading your post correctly you could not get a job due to background so you did not renew your CDL and only have a normal license now. If that is the case then you will have to do everything all over again including school.

Hey William. What you're looking for is Company-Sponsored Training and it just so happens Prime has a program. Company-sponsored training programs are trucking companies that have their own schools. You pay almost nothing out of pocket, they'll train you, and of course hire you upon successfully completing the course and getting your CDL. Most companies require you to sign a contract to work for them for a specified amount of time and pay back some amount of tuition. With most companies you'll usually sign an 8-12 month agreement and pay back up to several thousand dollars of tuition in weekly payments. Follow that link above and you'll see we have pages and pages of information on each of those programs. You'll see tuition costs, up front costs, length of training, and all that kind of stuff so you can compare the various programs.

But that's the route I would recommend. If you still had your CDL and had some driving experience there might be other good options. But in your situation you're starting from scratch so it's either a company-sponsored program or pay full tuition at a private Truck Driving School.

Company-sponsored Training:

A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.

The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.

If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.

Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.

If you still have your CDL then no big deal but you will have to do a refresher course no matter what company you go with because you have no experience.

That's interesting. I was looking at Prime myself and remembered seeing that they only required 3 years removed from DUI to drive for them, 4 years removed from DUI for acceptance into their school. Wonder why the gentleman from Prime said 5 years, unless I'm not understanding something here.

I am thinking it is because of the insurance company requirements.
