New grad here, supposed to start with a Total transportation at the end of the month. Guy said they do follicle and urine testing. He said it could go back about 6 months. I have really short hair and haven’t smoked in about 3 months. I see most test typically run up to 90 days. Does anybody know what the time frames are? I don’t want to take a chance on it being on my record?

The follicle test is looking for psychedelics I believe . If they can’t take it from your head they can take it from your chest or your armpit.

Kalyn, there's no way I would recommend you take that risk. One failed drug test, and your new career is over. It will likely never get started. We all metabolize drugs differently. You need to be 6 months clean, in my opinion, before submitting to a hair follicle test. We have folks quit our orientations all the time. As soon as they realize we do hair testing, they run away.

Here's some helpful information on Drug Testing Methods And Time Frames

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

Doesn"t matter if you go somewhere else. Most testing is the same. You should wait at least 6 months before you are tested at lan orientation or other.

Thanks guys! Going to a different company first.
