Want to be a car hauler with little or no experience. I am currently hauling cars. 3 car hauler. But what I really want is to drive a 9 car hauler. Any advise?

I believe swift has their own car haul division. You could likely call and ask them.

Are you by chance located around Chicagoland?

Cassens, Jack Cooper, United Road have a huge presence here in Chicago you can check with them to see if they hire near your location.

I have never seen a Swift car hauler in my life but than again I started seeing Swift flatbedders for the first time last year. Bobcat mentioned the biggest 3 in the Chicago area. I think 2 of those 3 are union. Juicebox is a car hauler but he had a year of flatbed experience prior too. Been a bit since I've seen him on here though.

I've never seen a Swift mobile parking lot, either.

I recommend learning to drive a CMV first, then try a specialized freight.

CMV:

Commercial Motor Vehicle

A CMV is a vehicle that is used as part of a business, is involved in interstate commerce, and may fit any of these descriptions:

  • Weighs 10,001 pounds or more
  • Has a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more
  • Is designed or used to transport 16 or more passengers (including the driver) not for compensation
  • Is designed or used to transport 9 or more passengers (including the driver) for compensation
  • Is transporting hazardous materials in a quantity requiring placards
