I don’t know what they pay now or where you live or how it would work, You can check “national carriers “ out of the dfw area ( they are owned by national beef which is in Dodge city Kansas and Liberal Kansas)
To my knowledge, most of the major carriers are always looking for team drivers, ESPECIALLY married team couples. So apply at all of them, see what offers you two recieve, then narrow the list from there.
Never, Ever Lease. It's a no win situation for the driver, and a win-win for the corporation. The only thing you are doing is making their truck payment by renting a truck to haul their freight to make their company money. Meanwhile, you are paying for the maintenance, rental payments, and taking on 90% of the risk.

My husband has been driving for 25+ years, OTR and local. I am currently in a local CDL training program. I was a passenger with him for about a year in 2010 and 2011. Our goal is to team drive preferably long haul. He leased in the past, then became an O/O, unfortunately, his truck broke down and it was not worth the cost to fix it, so he went back to local delivery in 2012. My question is, what companies will hire a new driver without him jeopardizing his worth. I understand newbies make less money, but he is very experienced. Any ideas on where to look? If he leases again will that make it easier? Welcoming any input. Thanks in advance.
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
OTR:
Over The Road
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
