Employment Verification During COVID-19 - What If My Last Industry......shut Down?

Hello all! I'm hopefully just weeks away from starting my journey at company-sponsored CDL training, but the looming "second wave" of the pandemic and rapidly shifting situation on the ground presents a conundrum.

The last ten years of my professional career were spent in the fitness industry, which hasn't exactly had an easy time of it during the shutdowns. I am concerned about the ability of recruiters to confirm my employment, since all of my employers in the last ten years are now closed down (in New York City, Philadelphia as of tomorrow, and Los Angeles).

There is no one to answer the phones at the Front Desks of any physical gym location, and HR inboxes are backlogged with furloughed or downsized employees asking for COBRA benefits, helping with applying for unemployment, etc. It took 3 weeks for the HR department to respond to emails before I resigned, and this was BEFORE they shut back down again, not to mention before furloughing over 500 employees.

I have the personal cell phone numbers and company email addresses of my direct supervisors (Vice Presidents of Sales for East / West Coasts, respectively), which should hopefully be more than enough! However, I'm simply unaware of what the verification protocols are for various companies. Since the industry is strictly regulated and highly selective, I'd imagine their protocols are equally strict and selective for verification, and rightfully so. I'm just curious if anyone has any insight into the verification protocols that are typical for the process. Specifically, Prime, Wilson, Roehl, and Stevens.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

CDL:

  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Do you have employment records? I'm talking about W-2's. Anything like that would be helpful in your situation.

I am a former small landscaping business owner. I will be submitting my last 10 years quickbooks profit and loss statements as well as last 8 years of tax returns. Hopefully that will be sufficient!

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

Glad O/S got 'that' one straightened out for ya! I was going to say the same, but he beat me to it, LoL!

Company choices; regarding your top 4 . . . you might want to check with PJ regarding Stevens. His missus recently departed there, and is teaming with him these days, but there's something he posted regarding Stevens that I just can NOT put a finger on, nor recall. I'm not sure if it was the fact they push Lease, or whatnot, but you may want to research some of PJ's posts, in light of this.

We can also try this: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HAY, @ PJ ~! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hahaha, I tried. Either way, best wishes, good sir.
