I'm guessing it was some schmuck sitting around at a shipper/receiver with too much time on their hands.

Maybe it was Todd The Troll???

Yes, that would be great. I plan to be out of OKC by 1300, though.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Yesterday I picked up a load in Oklahoma City, driving north to Connecticut. A random guy on the CB asked me about the drug bust at a WE terminal. He said a driver was arrested at a WE terminal for trafficking, said trailer had drugs in it. I haven't heard anything from WE so I'd take it all with a grain of salt until somethings confirmed. Strange though to see this thread after some random guy on the CB says something.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I just queried my DM , he hasn't heard anything. He says he wouldn't pay it any attention. He is at the Nashville terminal at the moment so he should know if anything was happening.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

A quick message to Western on Facebook yielded this:

"The rumors you have heard are NOT true. I don't know where the rumor spreader got his information, but it's completely false."

And then, this:

"It's crazy how quick rumors spread on social media - I honestly don't even know how it started but it's 100% false."

Carry on, peeps! Have a great day!
