His main points were that none of his drivers manage the kind of miles I did consistently on a weekly basis, and that none of them keep him informed well enough so that it is easy for him to have them pre-planned all the time.

Things like this amaze me!! It’s simple communication. How hard is it to call the receiver and see if you can deliver early, run some quick numbers off of your trip plan and add a few cushion hrs for unforeseen delays, then send a message to dispatch with an ETA.

Doing that will keep you moving and the $$$ flowing. Maybe its a no brainer to me since I come from owning a small landscape business which required a lot of scheduling and adjustments on fly.

Delco, you're right. Trucking is a whole lot like being self employed. My prior 30 years of running a business helped me greatly as I learned how to make a go of trucking. People who need a lot of guidance and help struggle with this career.

600 a day is great, but you will be taking a reset each week.

The way I look at my miles is 400 a day is average, then anything around 450 is good enough for me. I run strictly recaps, so 400 each day for 30 days is a 12,000 mile month.

So I've been in training for about almost 3 weeks here at Western express now and am averaging about 600 miles a day if I am able to run my full clock otherwise I get what I can squeeze in if I was held up waiting on a load or what not.

Any updates, Zach?

Did those six double ot days wear you down?!??! LoL.

Just looking for an update; and again, KUDOS in your career!
