Prime requires 6 months solo OTR without requiring TNT. The local experience will not count. I had a friend who did 10 years local and they still made him do 25k. Being that it is off and on in guessing they may not even accept you. Best advice would be to call a recruiter
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
Your best bet is to contact a recruiter there to find out. The answer we give may be inaccurate due to having a preventable, and less than a consecutive year experience
When you were hired on at Western Express are you obligated to complete a full year? If you are obligated and quit before you complete a full year WE might come at you to recoup the cost of your training. How many actual months driving for WE do you have under your belt? My recommendation is to complete your obligation to WE and then move on. Prime will still be there.

No I do not have a contract with WE, I had a obligation to Prime inc. But when I quit TNT training when I first had my cdl , and did a local job where I damaged a tarp on accident, Prime wanted me to get 3 months experience driving somewhere else before rehiring me. That's when I first went with Western.

So in the past year, I have been off and on trucking. I have about 7 months of solo experience with Western Express and a smaller trucking company called Vline inc. When I first got my cdl I was with Prime and really enjoyed it, but being immature, and hating team driving I quit for something local. When I was local, I damaged a tarp on a dump truck that was preventable. So when I was trying to go back to Prime last January, they wanted me to get atleast 3 months of driving experience before they would take me back. I've had the itch to go back OTR , and love Prime inc as a company. I was just wondering with my 7 months solo experience, how long would I have to do TNT training?
