A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Before getting their CDL, commercial drivers will receive their commercial learner's permit (CLP) upon passing the written portion of the CDL exam. They will not have to retake the written exam to get their CDL.

I'm sure this has been answered many times but I couldn't find it. I live in NJ and the majority of company sponsored driver training locations are not. Do I get my permit in NJ or the state where I would be attending training? I am looking into a change of career and lifestyle and have found a lot of helpful information on this site. I am sure my question would be answered by a company recruiter, but I'd like to do more research before taking that step.
Thanks all
