Anne, I see... so some truck driving schools are actually a part of the company itself, actually owned by the company... that makes more sense now, and I will look into those, ,thank you much!
Truck driving schools, like Roadmaster, take your money and will get you your CDL. Then you have to find a job on your own, although some of the schools will have companies come in and you can apply with them. However, none of these schools will get you a job or guarantee you will get a job after their school. Best apply to companies that have a school, like Old School says.
As for FL, I got a load to Orlando once (2017) and had to sit for 3 days whole my company got a load for me. Unfortunately, it was in Aug which must be the monsoon season, it rained heavily all 3 days so I didn't go exploring!

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
